We are located in La Crescent, MN...2.5 hours from the twin Cities, 2 hours from Madison and 3 hours from Milwaukee
Mississippi Mud Kennels was established after my litter in 2008. I decided to start breeding because I truly love dogs, training, and hunting. It is my belief that I own three prime examples of everything that someone would want in a hunting or even trial dog. These dogs are great family dogs that will let children hang on their ears, grab their tails, etc…… but, at the same time, they are all business in the field. I am an extreme waterfowler, and this last year I spent over 40 days in the field. My dogs will go out in the most extreme conditions and will never give up. They have hundreds of retrieves under their belts, and every year they amaze me with their tenacity. I have plenty of witnesses that would tell you about my dogs swimming 200-300 yards after a cripple or dragging in Giant Canada geese weighing 12-14 lbs. These dogs have retrieved swans in North Dakota.
You will find that your puppy will be extremely well socialized. These puppies will be introduced to duck and pheasant wings, deer horns (for those shed hunters out there) as well as introduced to loud noises. We spend as much time as possible with these puppies to ensure that we know the tendencies of each one. By the time you get your puppy from us at 7 weeks of age, it will already be accustomed to being let out enough to not potty in it's area.
